In My Winter Home

You might see…

  • Afghans scattered here and there for cozying up with.
  • Socks being worn more often to ward off the chill of cold feet.
  • More sweaters being worn.
  • Children playing in the snow!

You might hear…

  • Lots of praise and worship music.

  • The tapping of the keys on my computer’s keyboard as I continue writing more articles for magazines, newsletters, and college writing assignments.

  • Prayers being offered up to our Lord.

You might smell…

  • Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice as I bake winter goodies.

  • The scent of fresh bread baking as you enter my home.

  • Potpourri in every room.

  • The tea brewing on the stove for my famous Iced Tea.

  • Yankee Candles and tarts being burned.

  • Whatever is cooking in the Crock-Pot today.

You might taste…

  • Home-baked cookies straight from the oven.

  • Lots and lots fresh-baked bread.

  • Hot tea–with a dollop of cream and a couple of spoonfuls of sugar!

  • Lots and lots of hot chocolate!

  • Casseroles made with love.

  • Hot breakfast goodies-homemade pancakes and waffles, hot cereals, and sausage gravy and biscuits on those chilly, winter mornings.

  • Many different kinds of soups and stews.

  • The crisp scent of snow coming in the air.
